Cupping

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine that involves placing specialized cups on the skin to create suction for several minutes. This technique promotes pain relief, reduces inflammation, enhances blood flow, and fosters relaxation, serving as a form of deep-tissue massage.

During the cupping process, a therapist uses a flammable substance, such as alcohol, herbs, or paper, placed inside the cup and ignited. Once the fire extinguishes, the cup is positioned upside down on the skin. As the air inside the cup cools, it creates a vacuum that causes the skin to rise and redden due to the expansion of blood vessels. Each cup is typically left in place for up to three minutes.
